During our first lesson back with Seema this term she mentioned the idea of silhouettes, she talked about having to really think about the shape of the hair you are creating, and whether or not the shape you are creating alone is enough to portray your character in the way you are hoping.
I thought this was really interesting concept and so i began to look at several silhouettes.
I really like this idea because i think you could create a really interesting character and force people to use their own imagination to create a certain character in their mind but with the guidance you would be giving with the silhouette you create. Although i really like this idea and would love to explore it further I'm currently unsure as to how i would be able to relate it to Miss Havisham in a way that would allow me to use this idea for my final timed assessment, however i could use the concept of having to really think about texture and shape to help me in the creation of my Miss Havisham, this idea has allowed me to begin thinking about my hair designs in a new way and I'm looking forward to the sorts of things this idea is going to aid me to create.

Using pinterest for inspiration...
My pinterest account: http://www.pinterest.com/ayeshaneve/
We were introduced to pinterest as a place to collect all our inspiration and 'pin' them in one place, I think this is a really good idea and i really enjoyed looking for inspiration and collecting them all together for me to look at as a collective.

What the Dickens? ...
My new brief for my 2nd term at university comes under the theme of gothic horror. The first half of which is based on 'Great Expectations' by Charles Dickens. After getting to know the characters we were told that our assessment would be based on continuity, this will be judged by how well we create and recreate our version of the character Miss Havisham. When i first heard about this i was slightly worried, having to create a look is one thing but having to recreate it so it photographs exactly the same 2 weeks later puts the pressure on.
To do this we are expected to use a range of different outlets such as film, text and the internet to explore our ideas and create our own character of how we envision Miss Havisham, i think this is a really interesting thing and I'm looking forward to learning more about characterisation and creating my own Miss Havisham.
